One of the best ways to advertise your site on the Internet is through Internet forums. Internet forums are a great place to let your site be known to the world because firstly, they're mostly free to use, and secondly, they're a great "hunting ground" to get qualified visitors to your site!

Forum posters are generally very passionate about the subject they're discussing about. In fact, in many forums, you'll find many posters with hundreds and even thousands of posts.

What you don't want to do when you start posting in forums is to post general answers to threads or just blatantly start pointless threads just to get your link out there. That' forum spamming.

So how do you advertise your link in forums? If you've posted in forums before, you would have heard of signature files. These little things are great advertising places. You should write a short signature in the style of a classified ad to grab attention to your link and get the click-throughs.

The next thing you should do is to introduce yourself at the forums. Some forums have an introduction section where new members can introduce themselves. Write a short introduction to introduce yourself to the community.



Next, start posting! Ask good questions, and post informative answers to threads. Establish yourself as an expert on your topic. This is what will get your signature file noticed. Try to commit about 30 minutes a day to posting on a few of your main forums, and you should notice a boost in your website traffic.
